The Australian selectors have left out Labuschagne from the three-game ODI series against India, as high-performing Queensland teammate Matt Renshaw getting a shock inclusion.
Selectors dropped Labuschagne from the ODI team following managing only a single run in both of his innings during the recent series against South Africa in August. The right-hander has a best innings of forty-seven in his last 10 ODI innings.
The 31-year-old has featured in 68 ODIs and accumulated 1,871 runs at an batting average of 34.64, but will now focus on earning a Test team comeback in time for the Ashes starting in Perth on 21 November.

“The majority of the T20 squad will remain together as it’s an important period in the build towards the T20 World Cup next year, however we are trying to strike a balance to ensure we simultaneously get ready specific players for the Test matches ahead.”
Australia’s three-game ODI series against India begins on October 19 in Perth, before the opponents play five T20 internationals from 29 October.
